That’s the view of Reds hero Phil Thompson.
City, Liverpool and Chelsea all remain unbeaten after 10 Premier League games this season.
Arsenal and Tottenham have also impressed, with United already falling behind the pack.
Jose Mourinho’s men trail Premier League leaders and arch-rivals City by nine points after 10 games.
And Thompson reckons United and Arsenal will miss out on Champions League football this season.
He told Sky Sports: “City still look just too strong for the rest, although Liverpool do have a chance but they’ll have to do everything right to get the better of them over the course of a season.
“Chelsea have impressed me so far and with Hazard they can take third.
“City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, United.”
Liverpool have impressed under Jurgen Klopp this season, with the Reds eyeing their first Premier League title.
After the Reds hammered Cardiff 4-1 last weekend, Klopp hailed his Liverpool stars, singling out Sadio Mane for impressing at Anfield.
When asked if Mane’s goal showed Liverpool’s new perseverance, Klopp said: “Yes, absolutely. It was like this and you have to do it like this.
“It’s like a whole counter-press situation: lose the ball, get it back, shoot and fire in, so that’s really good.
“We had these situations against Belgrade [and] you need that. You need that constantly, actually.
“You need to play the pass with the risk to lose it. If you lose it you can win it back and then you have a gap at least for a second or so.
“To create a gap in a game like this you need kind of 10, 15 passes.
“We did that in a lot of moments really well. I don’t know the percentage of possession but it should be massive as they didn’t have the ball a lot.
“That’s what we prepared and I’m really happy.”
